In a winning streak, WeSchool wins IMPACT with five runs against Thakur College of Management, Mumbai

WeSchool IMPACT tournament ended on an edgy finish recently. It witnessed two deserving teams facing off each other in one of the finest inter-collegiate Cricket tournament, Mumbai. The tournament finals took place between Welingkar Institute of Management and Thakur College of Management at Matunga Gymkhana ground amidst a cheering crowd of students and faculty staff of WeSchool.

Prof. Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director,WeSchool also an ardent Cricket fan, was present during the finals alongside Chief Guest Mr Vilas Godbole, Former Honorary Secretary  -MCA, also author of ‘My Innings in Mumbai Cricket’ and Guests of Honour, Ms Andrea Hvistendahl and Ms Jessica Bruch from WeSchool’s Partner University Malardalen, Sweden.

Thakur College won the toss and chose to field.  The WeSchool team threw a dicey target of 176 to chase for the team from Thakur College in the second innings.

The match went on with pressure-building on both sides. The nail-biting climax ended on the last ball of the last over, with WeSchool ultimately winning by five runs.

The presentation ceremony took place at WeSchool campus followed by the lifting of The Champions Trophy.

The Chief Guest, Mr Vilas Godbole with the Guests of Honour, Ms Andrea Hvistendahl and Ms Jessica Bruch from WeSchool’s Partner University Malardalen, Sweden and Prof. Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool presented the special awards and trophies to the players.

Prajwal Shetty from Thakur College of Management was declared the Man of the Match for scoring 103 runs in 86 balls

Taranjeet Singh from WeSchool was declared Man of the Series for 275 runs and 11 wickets in the series.

‘Best Batsman’ was awarded to Devrath Raval from SIMSREE who secured a total of 410 runs in the series and ‘Best Bowler’ was awarded to Mitesh Rane of WeSchool who took a total 13 wickets in the series

Gaurav Kumar, Captain, WeSchool was declared ‘Best Fielder’ and Shubham Manjugade, WeSchool was declared ‘Best Wicket Keeper’ of the tournament.

The tournament came to a fruitful end with all the efforts of the IMPACT Management Committee coordinated by Mr Tushar Mohite.
