Universally healthcare is moving from being curative to preventive.  Spearheading health and wellness in India, schools and educational institues are undertaking intiatives to promote regular excercise and benefits of  Yoga. Open gymnasiums too are inspiring public to spare time for regular exercise. Food in schools and office canteens across MNCs are more nutrition focussed.

The development of healthcare in rural India is being focussed by the Indian government and organisations across healthcare sector are creating awareness for the cause. The overall healthcare for the families under poverty line is supported by healthcare insurance cover in  respective states by the government alongwith easy access to treatments.

Taking into consideration the healthcare landscape in India, PGDM Healthcare batch held its 8th Annual RoundTable on 15th Dec, 2018 on WeSchool Campus, Mumbai. The central theme for the roundtable was ‘Impact of Ayushman Bharat on Sustainability of Healthcare Business’.

Talking about the impact of #AyushmanBharat were speakers from healthcare industry such as, Mr. Atman Shah – CEO- Paramount TPA; Mr. Makarand Kulkarni – Head – Project Management Office –Sanofi; Dr. Hiren Ambegaokar – CEO- SL Raheja Hospital-A Fortis Associate; Mr. Vijay Kumar – Head-Innovation -Roche Diagnostics and Mr. Nikhil Apte – Chief Product Officer -Royal Sundaram GIC.  The panel discussion was chaired by Mr. Joy Chakraborty – COO-PD Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai.

The discussion elaborated on the finers details of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and its benefits. The talk also explored and evaluated potential areas of partnerships consulting projects; whitepaper publications and GCL projects. Some of these topics included how healthcare businesses are thriving under major changes taking place in the business environment post launch of Ayushman Bharat.

The students had the opportunity to interact with speakers during the Q&A session.

Overall, it was an insightful session for budding healthcare professionals #WeSchool.
