Honouring journalists at an award ceremony at WeSchool
Journalists form a significant part of the society. Over the years, several reporters through media have continued to contribute towards community progress. Taking a moment to appreciate this value worthy work of seasoned journalists, Vishwa Samvad Kendra and S. P. Mandali’s Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool) jointly organised Devarshi Narad Patrakarita award ceremony to recognise journalists of substance on the evening of Friday, 4 May in Mumbai. The event was well- attended by note luminaries from media fraternity. Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, was the Guest of Honour at the event.
Speaking about the event, Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool said, “It is our honour to host the Vishwa Samvad Kendra’s Devarshi Narad Patrakarita award ceremony which awards the outstanding work of journalists. Today, media has a responsibility to keep each citizen apprised about truth beyond the headlines. Despite all odds, a journalist bridges communication between stakeholders for the nation’s progress. It is time we appreciate the Indian press for their reports, news and opinions on societal changes.
In the backdrop of the technology-centric media landscape, India is certainly set to play a pivotal role in the global revolution. As our country ushers in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is imperative to further strengthen our Fourth Estate for effective governance.”
