In his key note address, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe shares his views

Creating a dialogue between the academia and IT industry was the recently held one day conference in partnership with Computer Society of India (Mumbai chapter) and S.P. Mandali’s Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (WeSchool), India’s leading B-School. Leadership from leading tech companies, noted academia and B-School students attended the event on 26th October, 2019.

‘Technext’ has been CSI Mumbai chapter’s attempt to encourage and recognise IT teachers in engineering and B-schools for their innovative work.  Over 80 professors were felicitated for their work to foster research; new pedagogical approaches; innovative solutions to real world problems and for creating an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The panel discussions overarched under the key theme ‘Education – Creating a Digital Ecosystem’ had conversations on topics such as Analytics, ML, AI; Emerging Technologies and Enterprise 4.0; developing an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem and developing technology ecosystem for academics.

The Chief Guest and Padma Shri., Dr. D. B. Phatak, shared his views on the benefits of online education platforms. He urged the teaching faculty to upskill in their subject expertise, and become true facilitators of knowledge.

Sharing his point of view, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool said, “WeSchool is proud to associate with CSI Mumbai Chapter for CSI Tech-Next India 2019. It affirms our belief that technology can make a difference across sectors. Change is the new norm with advancement in technology. The rise of online platforms in edutainment, online education, e-books have made knowledge accessible for everyone.  The role of education, educators and students is moving in the direction of constant learning by doing. One can imagine the future of work agility paving way for innovation at work.”

CSI Mumbai chapter is one of the most vibrant chapters and has been spreading knowledge on it through its 50 odd student branches and through platforms such as TechNext. The awards ceremony aims to spread a culture of innovation among faculty and students.
