Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe of WeSchool felicitated with ‘the Best Teacher’ Award by Higher Education Forum on Teachers’ Day.

Higher Education Forum recognized the efforts of Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool for his immense contribution to management education in the country. He has received the ‘Best Teacher Award’ under the special category of ‘Global Leadership’. The honor comes as recognition of his immense contribution to create a global higher educational institution in India. Dr Salunkhe received the award at the hands of chief guest Ms Jaya Row, Founder of Vedanta Vision. Other distinguished luminaries from the field of education who graced the occasion were Dr Indu Shahni, Principal, H R College of Commerce, Dr  Kondap, Chairman, Western Regional Committee, AICTE , Dr G Natrajan, Vice Chairman  & CEO of Zensar Technologies and Prof A K Sengupta, Founder of Higher Education Forum.

“Innovation is the basis of learning and real learning happens outside the classrooms. An institution should constantly strive to explore leadership elements in its teachers who are the driving force of that organization. I am extremely honored by being associated with this profession of teaching for past several years.” said Dr Salunkhe.

Speaking about leadership, Dr Salunkhe opined that leadership is not something that one is born with. It is the outcome of a process and attitudinal evolution. One should persistently introspect and initiate, try to lead others but all this must be backed by a strong sense of commitment.  Successful leaders, although a few; listen to their inner voice, take their own call, use their own assessment, have their own judgment about the future. And they also have the indomitable courage of conviction to stand by their belief system even in the face of intense criticism.

Speaking about global leadership, he said that our will leaders will have to transcend the geographical boundaries by taking the socio-cultural diversity in their stride. The global leaders have the entire world as their playfield and they bring in growth and development all around.
