On 13th October, 2015, the 50th anniversary of 1965 Indo – Pak war, the members of Lt. Dilip Gupte Marg Parisar Mandal paid tribute to the young and enthusiastic 23 year old Lt. Dilip Gupte, lost his life fighting for the nation in ‘Operation –demolish Jura Bridge’. Dignitaries gathered to pay homage to Lt. Dilip Gupte, at the remembrance function organized at WeSchool, Matunga by the Martyrs family.
The Chief Guest was, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri. Manohar Parrikar and the Guest of Honor was Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, WeSchool.
Renowned actor-director Ajit Bhure presented a book on ‘Operation Jura Bridge’, which is an inspiring story of Lt. Dilip Gupte. The hon’ble minister lauded the supreme devotion that the soldiers have for the nation and admired that entire vicinity in a city like Mumbai had nurtured the memory and spirit of Lt Dilip Gupte for 50 years.
Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool on the occasion said,

Their discipline, team work, leadership and dedication are some of the traits that we try to inculcate in our students in order for them to achieve even the toughest of goals. Taking a leaf from the pages of our martyrs, I urge the youth to be inspired by these brave men and use education as a tool to become responsible citizens and add an intrinsic value to our country.
At the same time, I also urge our policy makers in the government to make use of this vast pool of talent to further develop and enhance this country and lay the foundations for a strong youth oriented generation.”
As a humble contribution to the nation’s defense forces, WeSchool has been training defense personnel for career options post their retirement from the forces. We are keen on working with the soldiers and training them to possibly initiate Startups apart from job opportunities.”
