Ankit Patwari, PGDM E-Business 2017-19 narrates his experience on winning the Deloitte Impact Challenge, 2018 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

About the competition:

The Deloitte Impact challenge is held every year at HPAIR. The teams are selected randomly by the organizing committee and my team included four delegates from China, Indonesia, Japan and India.

This year, we were been asked to prepare a business model in the Healthcare segment out of the domains of smoking, diabetes and depression. Having worked on smoking alternatives with my teammates, Akhil Dhiman and Sourabh Kapkar  had well researched on alternatives. We deviced an application prototype and a gamification model by which we can engage smokers with the healthy alternative and gain market share too.

About my team:

My team was a random selection from the HPAIR committee. It consisted of the following members:

  1. Mika Matsuyama, Soka University, Japan
  2. Nadira Safitri Mohammad, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia
  3. Yimin Li, Fudan University, China
  4. Harshith Varma Manthena, BITS Pilani

Key Learnings:

The experience to work with teammates from different cultures has broadened my perspective on product design.  I learned to coordinate even if we had language barriers, different backgrounds of education and different opinions.
