Welingkarites get praised for their article Regulate Deregulation or Deregulate Regulation’ and win the honor of being ‘Article of the Month’ in IIM Shillong’s ‘Niveshak – Finance Magazine’ – June 2011 issue

An article co authored by our students, Aanchal Mittal and Harsh Agarwal from MMS (2010-2012)   was   published in IIM Shillong’s Niveshak – Finance Magazine – June 2011 issue. The article which appears under the title ‘Regulate Deregulation or Deregulate Regulation’ has been adjudged as the ‘Article of the Month’ with a cash prize of Rs 1000.
Deregulation of oil prices has been a major concern and there are many theories for and against it. But the fact of the matter is that oil prices need to move in sync with global crude oil prices. The article explores the issue of deregulation of diesel  and  LPG prices, the way forward for the government and ways of bearing the burden of subsidized prices. Dispelling the fears and concerns   hovering around deregulations, the authors substantiate their views with relevant examples of the thriving economies around the world
