Keep the environment clean to bring wealth and prosperity
Bollywood celebs led by the reigning Queen Kananga Ranaut endorse a strong message at the screening of a short film ‘Don’t let her go!‘ at WeSchool
Prin L.N.Welingkar Institute of Management (WeSchool ) with may firsts to its credit ; a Zero waste campus among them, saw the campus being abuzz with the arrival of the Bollywood A-lister Kangana Ranaut for the screening of a short film “Don’t let her go !”. Prof Aditya Bhat, Alumnus, Media professional and Head – Media & Entertainment Program at WeSchool, has conceptualized the film that spreads the message of keeping the environment clean to bring wealth and prosperity. The short film stars Kangana in the lead role of Goddess Lakshmi along with Isha Koppikar, Omkar Kapoor and Ravi Kishan, with thespian Amitabh Bachchan lending his golden voice to the film.
The inauguration of the event saw a very touching video clip with the images of the sanitation workers of the municipal corporation; the silent soldiers that toil day in and day out to keep our environment clean, with the National Anthem in the background , followed by a heartwarming message by none other than thespian Amitabh Bachchan to drive home the point “Swachchatamein hi Samruddhi Hain!” that received maximum applause from the young audience .The video clip as well as the skit on Being responsible citizens for a Clean Environment by WeSchool students were watched on in rapt attention by the stars, their peers and large number of media persons present in the audience.
While welcoming the celeb guests, Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool said,” ‘Swachh’ begins with self ‘Swa’ , if one learns to manage and lead self; one can manage the organization and society. Installation of a biogas plant to turn the campus into zero waste establishment, turning our street into a smart, student-friendly celebration street, adaption of Matunga station for the benefit of thousands on commuting Mumbaikars are few of the several initiatives that are manifestations of WeSchool’s commitment to collaborating with diverse set of stakeholders for creating awareness and bringing about positive change in environment and society. Actions Speak Louder than words and with such initiatives, we expect our young managers to also become responsible citizens.”
While applauding the efforts put in by WeSchool students in making the video clip featuring Mumbai’s humble sweepers , Kangana who plays goddess Lakshmi in the film said, ”Sweepers are the foundation of the movement of the cleanliness drive. All of us have a responsibility to do something significant for the country and keeping one’s environment clean is the simplest. We need to change out habits and develop the ‘Sattva’ energy that leads to goodness, positivity, truth, serenity, creativity, peace and confidence. Let us see earth as an extension of ourselves and she in turn will see us as a part of her.”
While Isha Koppikar said , ”Charity begins at home but the mission of clean environment should extend beyond the boundaries of our homes. Swachch Bharat is Swasth Bharat”, the other star of the film Omkar Kapoor urged everyone to stop littering, ”We must change our attitude and stop taking things for granted. A small change in our habits will make a big difference to the environment .This film was my way of contributing to the Swachch Bharat agenda.”
Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film is produced by Ample Mission and Aur Dikhao.
