The first day of the Foundation Fortnight at WeSchool for PGDM 2017-19

 

 

 

 

 

The first day of the Foundation Fortnight at WeSchool for PGDM 2017-19 unfurled with vigor and enthusiasm with hundreds students teeming in formal black-white attire. The new batch of student were warmly welcomed by WeSchool core faculty. The first day was a symphony of sessions which seamlessly followed one after the other. The inaugural session was followed by parichay of WeSchool Family, workshops, and much more.

 

Foundation Fortnight was inaugurated today by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Ajit Joshi; Advocate Shri. S. K. Jain, Chairman, Managing Council, S. P. Mandali and Local Managing Committee, WeSchool, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool  and Prof. Dr. S. R. Tendulkar Dean – Administration. The event anchored by WeSchool students began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp ceremony. The ceremony was graced by  melodious Saraswati Vandana sung by Krutika Chaudhary, WeSchool student.

 

The inaugural speech by Chief Guest, Mr. Ajit Joshi; Advocate Shri. S. K. Jain, Chairman, Managing Council, S. P. Mandali and Local Managing Committee, WeSchool, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool were grains of advice and knowledge for students.

 

Chief Guest, Mr. Ajit Joshi said, “SMILE” at the opening address of the Foundation Fortnight of the 2017-18 academic year. S- be Smart, M- management principles are the same across sectors, I- Integrity and Intelligence, L- Listen more, E- ensure Excellence in whatever you choose to do.” He ended his speech by urging students to live in the present and always keep an eye on the future.

 

Students got the opportunity to interact with Mr. Ajit Joshi and ask him questions which he answered to the best of his ability.

 

Advocate Shri. S. K. Jain, Chairman, Managing Council, S. P. Mandali and Local Managing Committee, WeSchool addressed with inspiring words of advice. He explained to the students that here at WeSchool they could attend lectures with students from all walks of life and that they should feel privileged to be a part of WeSchool. He also led stressed on the importance of spirituality and philosophy as keys to success. He narrated a short story highlighting the value of love and affection over money and fame, and that the latter would follow once we have love and affection for all. He urged the students to treat everyone with love and affection because who we are is best told by the people close to us. He motivated students by saying  that they are now WeSchool brand ambassadors and that they must carve their own identity. He assured the students that if they put their heart plus mind to every task then performance is certain and nothing can stop them from being leaders.

 

Warmly welcoming the students was Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, who expressed his joy on seeing dynamic, energetic and futuristic students at WeSchool. He acknowledged the contribution and continuous support from various stakeholders who have helped WeSchool reached the heights it has reached today.

 

Commenting on the theme, he explained that ‘anukaran‘, the foundation fortnight theme, is the beginning of transformation. It is the process of a seed coming to life which symbolizes the journey the students will experience here at WeSchool. He further elaborated that B-Schools are not merely to get good placements. The primary objective is to create global citizen leaders who hold a global perspective. He also emphasized that one must aim at being an integrated manager. He concluded on a note that saying “The world outside is a VUCA world and the power to co-create the future lies in the hands of the students.”
